fall, or a trip to the cider mill

i'm pretty into all kinds of fall things. it's been that way since i was a kid. probably because my birthday is in october, but i also feel like the best things happen during the fall. it's always this weird transformational time where something big and exciting and life-changing happens. at least for me, anyway.

fall in michigan is stunning. fall in virginia was so fleeting.

both come with their quirks, but i will always prefer a midwestern autumn to a southern one.

in michigan, autumn lasts almost four months. four months of apple picking, farmer's market-ing, raking leaves, running outside, eating hot donuts, sipping cinnamon tea. so beautiful, a collection of colors before the starkness of winter.

tans fading and days shortening.

but i do thoroughly enjoy it.
