how i wish i was back again...

My trip to Michigan last week was great. I visited lots of new restaurants and bars, went to a beautiful wedding, saw lots of fun friends who I haven't had a chance to catch up with in forever, and got to spend lots of time with my family!
After living in Virginia, I am really able to appreciate Ann Arbor and everything that Michigan has to offer.
Here are a few pics from the week:

1. I picked up these Sonya Renee bracelets from Bivouac, a boutique in the State Street area of Ann Arbor. I saw them and could not leave the store without one. And then I went back and bought another one. Sad. Sadly, both websites are sold out of the bracelet, but the Sonya Renee website still has beautiful druzy earrings and necklaces.

2. Drinking at Sidetrack Bar & Grill in Ypsilanti. It's called Sidetrack because a train runs RIGHT next to the building (it is loud). This is one of my favorite bars in Ypsi, and I always make sure to visit when I go back. I had to get a Bell's Oberon--it's not a Michigan summer without one!

3. I visited a new restaurant in downtown Ann Arbor called The Raven's Club. I got a Newly Fashioned which had white whiskey in it. WHAT IS WHITE WHISKEY?! I am not sure, but it tasted really awesome.

4. Tea and Cadbury chocolate digestive biscuits. Literally the best combination since...(insert cliche combination of food or celebrities in a couple). Idk.

1. This is the street I used to live on! The best year of my life so far was spent on Vaughn Street. Miss that place and the student ghetto that surrounds it.

2. Sugar House in Detroit my good friends/old roomies! It was so fun catching up, but the service at the bar was less than stellar. I don't like to give bad reviews, but I do not recommend this place at all.

3. Wreaking havoc in Ann Arbor with friends! We sneakily visited a dive bar called Eightball for some darts, PBR and popcorn (?) after visiting The Black Pearl, a martini bar in downtown Ann Arbor (lychee martini=fabulous!). Claim to fame: Eightball was a favorite venue of Nirvana.

4. Visited a store that opened recently on Washington Ave. called Babo. While that little juice I got wasn't the best in the world, they did have lots of very neat things and apparently have the best potato salad. It's worth checking out for your gourmet food needs if you're in the area.

1. & 2. This was the wedding I attended between two lovely friends of mine. It was in an absolutely gorgeous location, and the bride's great taste made it that much more beautiful. I am so happy for them!

3. Downtown Ann Arbor. I think I was there legitimately half of the time I was in Michigan.

4. Tomato, mozzarella, and basil sandwich with balsamic vinegar, sea salt, and olive oil. I love eating at home because my parents have every single ingredient I could ever want. They love to cook and we have so much fun together experimenting with new recipes.

Overall it was a fantastic vacation. I was so happy to see everyone again and revisit my old haunts. I may end up moving back there someday if it strikes my fancy. I have a funny feeling it will.
